Infrastructure
SDS water management systems provide vital benefits in flood prevention, environment protection and drought mitigation to UK infrastructure.

Ensuring critical infrastructure remains operational during rainfall and with minimum impact on the environment.
SDS stormwater attenuation systems ensure that crucial infrastructure is able to operate to its maximum efficiency potential despite exposure to an increasing number of intensive rainfall events which might otherwise lead to flooding.
About a third (34%) of water pumping stations and treatment plants, for example, are sited in areas at risk of flooding from multiple sources.*

SDS treatment devices help ensure infrastructure restricts or negates entirely any pollutive impact it might have on the local environment, whilst SDS rainwater harvesting and recycling systems help reduce infrastructure’s demand for potable water and ensure a supply of non-potable water during prolonged periods of dry weather.

SDS surface water attenuation system safeguards new 40-acre business park from flood risk.
SDS Aqua-Swirl® protects the environment from pollution by surface water runoff.
SDS Aqua-Swirl® uses hydrodynamic separation technology to maximise the removal of pollutants, that are typically found attached to silts and debris within surface water runoff, before its dispersal to a suitable outlet.
As well as recovering oils and floating debris, SDS Aqua-Swirl® effectively eliminates more than 80% of total suspended solids.
It can even be connected to a pre-existing stormwater management system as both inlet and outlet pipes can be tailored to site specific requirements.

SDS GEOlight® attenuation tank and Weholite pipelines and flow control chamber combine to prevent surface water flooding.
In the below graphic SDS GEOlight® attenuation and Weholite system inspection, flow control and conveyance devices work together to ensure surface water is managed efficiently and effectively, from its point of ingress into the SuDS system to its final release.
Weholite manholes and access shafts also provide a suitable location in which to house SDS SYMBiotIC™ smart monitoring and control devices.
