Leisure
SDS water management systems provide substantial benefits in flood prevention, environment protection and drought mitigation to organisations operating in the leisure industry

Protecting leisure premises and venues from the risk of excessive rainfall events which might otherwise lead to flooding.
SDS stormwater attenuation systems ensure that leisure businesses including hotels, holiday parks, stadia and sports facilities, cinemas, gyms and leisure centres are protected from the risk of excessive rainfall events which might otherwise lead to flooding.
SDS treatment devices ensure that surface water runoff from the site does not pollute the local environment, whilst SDS rainwater and grey water harvesting and recycling systems help replace potable water with recycled rainwater where a non-potable supply will suffice.

Engineered and nature-based SuDS combine to manage surface water effectively whilst delivering environmental, financial, and social and mental welfare, benefits.
In “hybrid” storm management systems, as represented in the graphic below, SDS-engineered water storage and treatment devices below-ground combine with, enhance the performance and extend the lifespan of, vegetative SuDS materials, such as ponds, swales and ditches, above-ground.
Allied to SDS Intellistorm® and SYMBiotIC™ smart technologies providing autonomous control, live monitoring and reporting, SDSengineered devices protect nature-based solutions from the impacts of excessive or insufficient rainfall, whilst also ensuring a consistent supply of water for irrigation and resource provision purposes.

SDS Intellistorm® smart rainwater and grey water recycling puts water reuse well within the reach of every project where SuDS are a planning requirement.
SDS Intellistorm® actively empties rainwater and/or grey water collection vessels in accordance with weather forecast data, providing only sufficient space in the vessel to receive the incoming rain and grey water and ensuring the maximum amount of water for reuse is continuously available. So, where a property or site needs to consider both flood resilience and water consumption impact, there’s no need for separate rainwater and grey water harvesting and attenuation systems.
The graphic below represents our Intellistorm® system operating in a mixed use development, in which leisure, residential, retail and business premises share access to a recycled rainwater and grey water storage facility for nonpotable purposes such as irrigating the grounds or cleaning windows. Planned in advance of the site’s construction the tank can be plumbed in to flush the toilets in each premises.
