As part of this year’s programme, SDS will deliver a presentation titled “Leaky water butts: are they the smart choice?” on Tuesday, March 4th, at 13:55 on the Placemaking Impact Stage. This session will explore the deployment of traditional, leaky and smart water butts by Water Companies across the UK to mitigate CSO spills and manage surface water flooding. While some companies have committed to large-scale installations of leaky water butts in residential areas, SDS has been at the forefront of intelligent solutions. Partnering with a leading UK Water Company, we have implemented our Intellistorm®-equipped smart water butts across numerous homes and premises. These installations, equipped with monitoring devices, enable a side-by-side comparison of smart and leaky systems, providing vital insights into their effectiveness and value.
